LOS ANGELES, Sept. 23, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Starting the end of September and into mid-October 2016, Hong Kong will be home to various world-class sporting competitions. Kicking off the festivities is the second annual Hong Kong Cyclothon on September 25, 2016 followed by the Hong Kong Tennis Open from October 8-9, 2016 and the first-ever FIA Formula E Hong Kong ePrix from October 8-9, 2016. Supported by the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB), Asia's World City will welcome international athletes and spectators from around the world as they participate and cheer on the competitors in the sporting events.

Hong Kong Cyclothon 2016 (September 25, 2016)
More than 4,000 cyclists from Hong Kong and around the world will fill the streets of Asia's World City during the second annual Hong Kong Cyclothon. Hosted by the HKTB the Cyclothon is set to be the biggest event ever of its kind in the destination.
Hong Kong Cyclothon 2016 includes the 50km and 30km rides, which take the riders past a number of the city's iconic landmarks, including the stunning backdrop of Victoria Harbour. During the 50km ride, the cyclists also have the rare opportunity of riding along three major bridges, including the Tsing Ma Bridge. With four races and five rides held on the same day, visitors can watch world-class cyclists racing across the finish line while cheering them on alongside tens of thousands of visitors.
Hong Kong Tennis Open 2016 (October 8-16, 2016)
Returning for its third straight year, the Hong Kong Tennis Open is a Women's Tennis Association (WTA) sanctioned International Series Event. Held at the iconic Victoria Park Tennis Stadium more than 50 of the world's best female tennis players will compete in singles and doubles for prize money worth US$250,000. Participants in this year's competition include Venus Williams from the U.S., Angelique Kerber from Germany, Samantha Stosur from Australia, and Caroline Garcia from France, among many others. First-Ever FIA Formula E Hong Kong ePrix (October 8-9, 2016)
Making its electrifying debut on the streets of Hong Kong, the FIA Formula E Hong Kong ePrix will showcase the exhilaration of top-flight, international motorsports – minus the emissions! The event held on the Central Harbourfront is guaranteed to be the biggest motorsport event ever held in Hong Kong. Set against the iconic skyline, this will be part of the third season of the FIA Formula E Championship, the world's first fully-electric racing series and a ground-breaking innovation in sports and entertainment.
Grandstands erected along the track's 555-metre main straight at Lung Wo Road, Tamar Park and The Hong Kong Observation Wheel will offer unrivalled views of the world's newest – and arguably most iconic – motorsport circuit. A specially erected eVillage at Lung Wo Road will help to share the excitement of the Hong Kong ePrix with the wider community. Throughout the race weekend, the eVillage will feature attractions and entertainment with performances on a series of mini-stages, children's zones and an array of game booths and activities, including a Formula E racing simulator competition.
