CARLSBAD, Calif., July 16, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Asian Real Estate Association of America (AREAA) has announced that award-winning journalist Lisa Ling will be among the speakers who will highlight their annual National Convention that will be held in Los Angeles this fall.

Lisa Ling is currently both the executive producer and host of the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) program Our America. In two seasons, Lisa has covered a wide range of in-depth stories from a Midwest town's struggle with an onslaught of heroin addiction to sex trafficking of minors in our nation's capital.
As a former correspondent to the Oprah Winfrey Show as well as an important contributor to both ABC News' Nightline and National Geographic's Explorer, Lisa has reported from dozens of countries around the world covering often-neglected stories such as bride burning in India, the Lord's Resistance Army in Uganda, and the Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) gang in Central America. Lisa also went on to become a co-host on ABC Daytime's hit show The View , a special correspondent for CNN's Planet in Peril Series, and a current contributing editor for USA Today's USA Weekend magazine. In 2008, Lisa also began to write, produce, and host a special on community devastation caused by home foreclosure in the Inland Empire.
Lisa has co-authored Mother, Daughter, Sister Bride: Rituals of Womanhood and Somewhere Inside: One Sister's Captivity in North Korea and the Other's Fight to Bring Her Home.
