Ashley P. Doucette, M.D. is recognized by Continental Who's Who
NEW ORLEANS, Nov. 21, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Ashley P. Doucette, M.D., M.P.H., is recognized by Continental Who's Who as a Pinnacle Professional Member in the Medical field.
Dr. Doucette serves as the Doctor of Psychiatry and CEO of Doucette Consultants, LLC. She established her practice in 2013 and brings expertise in the treatment of mood disorders, psychosis, opiate dependency and community psychiatry, to her role.
"I practice hug and love therapy with everyone I treat, including homeless patients," Dr. Doucette said.
In addition to her work in her practice, Dr. Douette is the Medical Director of Southwest Primary Care Center in Opelousas, Louisiana; the Deputy Psychiatric Coroner at the New Orleans Parish Corner's Office and the Director of Psychiatry and Mental Health Services at the New Orleans Wellness Center in New Orleans.
"You have to be completely committed to stepping outside the box and you need to have a heart for it," Dr. Doucette said. "I consider the fact that for some patients, I am their last line of defense. Their last sense of hope. Someone may think 'ok, if this doctor can't help me, then I'm just giving up'; so, it's important for me to be attentive, compassionate, and genuine in my concern for helping them."
Dr. Doucette earned her Medical degree as well as her Master of Public Health degree at the Tulane University School of Medicine in 2009. To further her professional development, she is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc, and the American Psychiatric Association. In recognition of her outstanding accomplishments in the field, she has been named to Leading Physicians of the World.
Additionally, Dr. Doucette " was the annual guest speaker for Xavier University Premedicine Society, 2016 guest speaker for Positive Living Treatment Center Fundraiser and Presenter at Louisiana Association of Substance Abuse Counselors and Trainers (LASACT) 37th Annual Conference," her website states. "She has had multiple local television and radio appearances on WBOK Radio and Cox Cable NOA-TB with host Dr. Gary Clark."
"The key to my success is God," Dr. Doucette said. "I am just a tool He uses."
When not working, Dr. Doucette enjoys spending time with her three French bulldogs, music, playing the piano and boxing. She dedicates this recognition to her parents – her mother, who is retired from Delta Air Lines, and he father, who is a former police officer.
