Ashley Furniture Ranks #1 Furniture Retailer in the Country, Led by Texas Based Hill Country Holdings, an Ashley Furniture HomeStore Operator.
NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas, June 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Hill Country Holdings had the greatest percentage gain, up 93% and the largest net increase, up $70.8 million, leading the charge in year over year gains according to Furniture Today (article 5.24 issue).
In Furniture Today's publication of the Top 100 U.S. furniture store rankings, HCH, LLC d.b.a Ashley Furniture HomeStore, climbed the highest of all furniture retailers by moving up 35 spots to the #40 ranking. Fueling the largest volume increase and the greatest percentage of growth for any Top 100 Company was the acquisition of the 6 Ashley Furniture HomeStores, run by Finger Furniture, in the Houston market, as well as the expansion into the Rio Grande Valley with the opening of their McAllen store.
Founded in 2002, Hill Country Holdings opened their first Ashley Furniture HomeStore in Austin, TX. That single store success encouraged the HCH, LLC Partners to expand with the addition of 6 total retail stores in Austin and San Antonio by the end of 2006. By 2008, they opened another 2 stores in the state of Washington (Seattle DMA). In April of 2009 HCH, LLC doubled in size with the addition of the Houston market, and 6 more Ashley Furniture HomeStores. They will have opened 5 additional retail stores- 3 Houston stores, 1 in the Rio Grande Valley, and 1 in Tukwila, WA, as well one clearance center in Houston by the end of 2010, totaling 19 retail showrooms and 2 clearance centers.
