HAVRE DE GRACE, Md., March 20, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Ashley Addiction Treatment (Ashley), one of the nation's most respected names in the substance use disorder treatment industry, assumed active asset management of Aquila Recovery (Aquila), an outpatient addiction treatment provider with locations in Chevy Chase, MD, Washington, DC, Leesburg, VA, and Herndon, VA. Through this acquisition, Ashley fulfills its longstanding plan to grow its presence in the Greater DC and Northern Virginia markets to create more access points for care to individuals and families impacted by this region's alcohol and drug epidemic. Aquila will become a member of the Ashley system of care by July 1, 2019. In the interim, both organizations will retain their respective names and will work diligently to integrate and provide a more comprehensive continuum of care.
Founded in 2011, Aquila has operated as one of the premier DC area outpatient providers and offered a similarly high standard of care to Ashley. Aquila founder and celebrated recovery advocate, Johnny Allem, said, "We recognize the tremendous opportunity that awaits us. I know that Aquila is in good hands and I have full confidence in Ashley's ability to sustain and grow what we've built here."
"We have always had a profound appreciation for Aquila's care model, and by combining our staff and resources, we can now offer our patients and families more comprehensive care and achieve greater success in supporting them on their recovery journeys," said Ashley President & CEO, Rebecca Flood.
"This acquisition links our continuum of treatment services and ensures greater accessibility for people throughout the Greater DC and Northern Virginia region," said Ashley Board Chairman, Jim Denvir.
When the organizations officially join, Rebecca Flood will serve as President & CEO and oversee all operations.
