Chicago-Based Public Affairs Firm Expands In Key Market
CHICAGO, Jan. 26 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- ASGK Public Strategies, the Chicago-based public affairs firm founded by David Axelrod, Eric Sedler and John Kupper, has named Jason Young Managing Director and General Manager of its Washington, D.C., office. Young is a veteran policy and political communicator who most recently was at the Glover Park Group, where he built and led GPG's health practice.
"We're pleased to have Jason aboard as a proven leader and key asset in helping our clients have a voice in Washington," said ASGK Managing Partner Eric Sedler. "The national conversation on a range of vital issues demands exceptional strategic counsel and flawless execution, and Jason will lead our deep bench of talent in working for our clients' success in D.C. With today's political landscape, few firms are better positioned to help understand the administration and its priorities."
ASGK opened its D.C. office in October 2009, when it also named as partner Larry Grisolano, who served as Director of Paid Media and Opinion Research for Obama-Biden 2008. ASGK's services include public affairs, issue campaign management, message development, and earned, paid and digital media.
"Our campaign experience directly informs how we meet clients' needs," said Grisolano. "In a risk-averse world, nimble, smart and game-changing approaches win the day. Jason will help translate that skill set to clients' issues and needs."
Young specializes in helping business and not-for-profit clients navigate complex, high-stakes reputation and public policy challenges. He has represented such well-known companies as Medco, Microsoft, Exelon, Cablevision, GlaxoSmithKline, Embarq, Eli Lilly and Company and the Global Business Coalition. He has also represented several trade associations, not-for-profit organizations and coalitions.
Before joining ASGK, Young served as Vice President in the Glover Park Group's Public Affairs division, where he built the firm's successful health communications practice. He worked extensively on national health care reform, crisis issues and regulatory matters for a broad array of clients. Before his time at GPG, Young ran communications for the American Psychiatric Association and served in vital communications roles at People For the American Way and the Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund.
Over his career, Young has media trained more than a thousand physicians, corporate leaders and political candidates.
