NURNBERG, Germany, Feb. 23, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- EMBEDDED WORLD -- Valens, the developer of HDBaseT™ technology, and Asem, leading industrial automation player in Europe, announced today that Asem has integrated Valens' Colligo HDBaseT chipsets for the delivery of uncompressed audio & video, controls, USB, Ethernet and power, to displays located up to 100m away from the source equipment.
With the Valens' Colligo family of chipsets, Asem's customers gain increased flexibility in the deployment of industrial monitors, without compromising on advanced features, such as touch screen functionality, USB 2.0 support, and more. In addition, monitors are connected to the source computer through a single LAN cable, for cost-effective and easy installation. Valens' Colligo family supports the 5Play features set of ultra-high-definition audio & video, Ethernet, controls, USB 2.0, and up to 100W of power over a single LAN cable for up to 100m, and over fiber for much longer distances.
HDBaseT is a transmission technology that allows for superior performance and additional functionalities over long distances. It has been widely deployed in the pro-AV market, and is now being implemented in the industrial PC market, thanks to its high reliability and quality. HDBaseT brings the following benefits for the Industrial PC market:
- 5Play feature set: audio/video, controls, Ethernet, USB, and up to 100W of power
- Cost-effective deployment of passive displays (zero-client PCs)
- Ability to power up remote displays, with quick fast link uptime
- Plug-and-play installation, with the necessary robustness and enhanced noise resiliency
- Support for daisy-chain and multistreaming
- All over lockable LAN cable, for easy field termination and support for drag chain
"Until HDBaseT came about, effective remote displays were not a straightforward possibility. With HDBaseT, we can eliminate multiple sources and/or very expensive cabling, as the technology brings us the right functionalities, such as USB 2.0 and multi-touch support, without being overly costly or complicated. A win-win situation for us."
Elia Guerra, International Sales Manager, Asem
"The Industrial PC market is one more vertical that HDBaseT is fit to address. HDBaseT guarantees the expected performance and easy-to-use experience, without extra infrastructure and complex cabling."
Eliran Toren, Vice President of Sales, Valens
Valens will be attending Embedded World, in Nurnberg, on February 24-26. Visit us on Hall 1, Booth 1-257.
