NEW YORK, July 17, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- ASCAP, The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, the world leader in performing rights and advocacy for music creators, today announced that Gregory Morgado has been promoted to the new position of Deputy General Counsel. Morgado reports to ASCAP General Counsel Clara Kim.

Greg joined ASCAP in 2015 as Senior Vice President, Business and Legal Affairs, where he is responsible for supervising and providing legal advice on a broad range of corporate law, compliance, corporate governance, commercial transactions, intellectual property, international and risk management matters. Greg has worked with ASCAP's strategy and business development, product and data strategy teams advising on key modernization and automation initiatives as part of the transformation process at ASCAP, including the launch of new products, negotiation of strategic relationships and innovation projects such as the ASCAP, SACEM and PRS data initiative.
Prior to joining ASCAP, Greg worked at Viacom Inc. as Vice President, Counsel, Corporate Transactions and Securities, and as a corporate mergers and acquisitions associate at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP. Greg received his J.D. from Columbia University School of Law, and his B.A. from Yale University.
