U.S. Patent No. 7,742,404 relates to the monitoring of network traffic. Asankya's solution differs from conventional network monitoring, which allows only limited flexibility in choosing what type of traffic is captured and subsequently analyzed. With the expanding variety of services moving into the cloud, the need for more efficient and flexible network monitoring could not be greater. The innovative Asankya approach equips cloud service providers with a more secure network while accurately measuring network traffic and capacity, allowing greater efficiency for auditing and billing.
"Network monitoring is a critical element in the operation of network service," said Dr. Raghupathy Sivakumar, Asankya's CTO and founder. "This patent award recognizes Asankya's unique selective monitoring method of a variety of network properties including throughput, delay and loss at different configurable granularities. Moreover, it provides service providers with a rich but simple interface to specify what aspects of the network they are interested in monitoring."
Asankya operates the RAPIDnet Application Delivery Network (ADN) service, and licenses RAPIDnode products. Asankya serves its commercial and U.S. Federal customers on a global basis.
