As HR Professionals Demand Integration, Namely Expands Partner Ecosystem and Deepens API with Namely Connect
-- New research shows that mid-sized companies plan to invest in core HR and payroll systems to solve integration challenges, support managers, and increase productivity
-- With an enhanced open API, Namely grows its list of partners from 5 to 30 in just twelve months and commits to building the first truly open HR platform
NEW YORK, Sept. 28, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Namely, the modern all-in-one HR, payroll and benefits platform for mid-sized companies, today announced enhancements to its open API and an expanded partner ecosystem as it commits to building a core HR platform that integrates with the growing number of software applications HR professionals use.
Today's news is supported by a new #HRWins research report from industry analyst George LaRocque, sponsored by Namely, which also launched today. The report reveals that mid-market HR professionals plan to invest in new HRIS and payroll platforms to solve integration challenges and to enable their managers and employees.
As integration becomes a top priority, Namely has increased the number of fields available through its API and released Namely Connect, a portal which allows clients to set up connections to other systems and manage how their data flows through the API. These enhancements have enabled Namely to add over 25 new partners in the last year, including Bridge for learning management, Workable for application tracking, AnyPerk for employee perks, OneLogin for single sign-on, and many more.
The new #HRWins research finds that mid-sized companies use nine different HR software applications on average. Perhaps it's no surprise that 24% of respondents cited "lack of integration" as their #1 technology-related pain point, beating out "gaps in automation," "lack of functionality," and "too many systems" as the top reply. Buyers are looking to new core HRIS and payroll systems to solve this problem. When asked where they plan to invest, the top two platforms were payroll (49%) and HRIS (36%). And when asked for their top two buying criteria, the ability to support managers was the top reply, followed by the ability to improve employee productivity.
As it expands its partner ecosystem, Namely is committed to building a core system of record for employee data that integrates with the many different tools HR professionals use. By doing so, the company solves the integration pain point for its clients, making HR technology more usable for employees, managers, and HR teams. Further, Namely positions itself, its clients, and its partners within the API economy, which has been shown to contribute significantly to profitable growth.
"The decision to invest in an open API benefits Namely and our clients," said Matt Straz, founder and CEO of Namely. "We're going to focus on HR, payroll, and benefits. For anything outside our core focus, we'll foster and support an ecosystem of complimentary solutions and services. Clients get flexibility, and we get to dedicate all our resources to creating the best HR, payroll, and benefits platform for mid-sized organizations."
Optimizely, one of Namely's clients, has used Namely's open API to centralize a wide range of business processes not typically handled by a core HR system.
"After we saw what the platform could do, we tore down our existing business processes and rebuilt them in Namely," says Ryan Higginson-Scott, People Operations & Systems Manager at Optimizely. "We now use Namely to manage everything from sales compensation to stock options to provisioning GitHub access for new engineers during onboarding. These integrations not only save us time, they provide a much better experience for our employees, too."
"The new survey results paint HR buyers in a whole new light," said George LaRocque, industry analyst and author of the report. "For a long time, vendors have sought to add more features, create new products, check more boxes. But buyers have just told us that they want something else. They want a core platform for employee data and payroll, and they want it to integrate with other best-of-breed applications that do one thing really, really well."
Today's news comes ahead of the HR Technology Conference and Exposition, October 4-7, 2016, where Namely will showcase its all-in-one HR, payroll, and benefits platform at Booth #2425.
In the latest #HRWins research, LaRocque, LLC surveyed 974 companies with fewer than 5,000 employees. 90% of respondents indicated they make or influence HR technology purchasing decisions in their company. Namely sponsored the report as part of the company's expanded presence at this year's HR Technology Conference & Exposition in Chicago from October 4th - 7th.
