AUSTIN, Texas, Feb. 21, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Epicor Software Corporation, a global provider of industry-specific enterprise software to promote business growth, today announced A&S Electric Supply, Inc. has chosen Epicor® Eclipse® software as its new enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution. A&S Electric Supply, Inc. plans on using the software to streamline job management and become even more competitive in the marketplace.
A&S Electric is a supplier of residential and commercial lighting, electric supplies, and electric hardware. The company, which will be celebrating its 50th anniversary in April, was founded in 1969 to serve customers in northern Kentucky, southwest Ohio, and southeastern Indiana.
A&S Electric had not updated their ERP system in almost 20 years and the team was ready for a more modern solution. The company began searching for a new solution that would improve job management and turn inventory quicker. A&S Electric already has a loyal customer base due to their excellent service and attention to detail. Improving job management with Eclipse will take their service to the next level by making things easier and more efficient for their customers.
"Epicor blew competitors out of the water with product quality and service," said Evan Smith, purchasing and warehouse manager, A&S Electric Supply, Inc. "It is getting tougher to work with the changing market and keep up with competitors, so we knew we needed to upgrade our system. We chose Epicor Eclipse because it is the best system out there for a company of our size and in our industry."
Streamlining job management with industry-specific software
The previous system at A&S Electric had a 10-15 step process for job management. With Eclipse for job management in place, tracking of large jobs will be simplified to easily allow A&S Electric to ship large orders directly to customers. A&S Electric will also be able to turn more inventory per year with Eclipse due to the ease of use of real-time job monitoring. The previous system did not measure dead inventory or slow-moving inventory, and the company had to close 2-3 days per year to physically go through all inventory. The Eclipse software will adjust items to order, resulting in more time to focus on sales, quicker response times, and the ability to stay competitive with pricing.
"The Eclipse solution is a fit-for-purpose, cloud-ready, business system for distributors," said Tony Corley, senior product marketing manager, Epicor. "Based on feedback from our customers, Eclipse software is easy to learn and use. Our solution helps distributors such as A&S Electric win in today's competitive markets by growing sales, improving margins, and increasing productivity. Ultimately, those are key factors that will help distributors grow their businesses."
