The earthquake of historic proportions that struck Japan in March 2011 set off a devastating chain of events, including a deadly tsunami and damage to the Fukushima nuclear plant that remains unresolved months after the disaster. Questions remain about the risks posed by the damaged reactor and increased levels of radiation in the water and air surrounding the plant. Join experts appointed by the International Section of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM) and International SOS as they discuss the occupational and environmental health aspects of the Japan earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disaster, as well as the ways companies can continue to effectively communicate with and support affected employees and their families. Recent initiatives of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will also be discussed.
