CHICAGO, Aug. 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Arup, a multidisciplinary engineering and consulting firm with a reputation for delivering innovative and sustainable designs, announced today that Daniel Michaud has joined the firm as an associate and senior technology consultant. In this role, Dan will be responsible for helping to build the IT and Communications group in the Chicago office, and strengthen the firm's overall regional digital and smart buildings offerings.
Dan's experience encompasses a number of integrated systems and project management areas. Most notably, he has proven to be a strong smart building, campus, and city designer and leader; has experience with BMS/BAS controls, lighting controls, security, and audiovisual design and consulting; designs structured cabling and active network environments; and consults on data center and mission critical environments. In addition, he is fluent in technology program and project management.

A member of the Project Management Institute (PMI), with previous BISCSI RCDD and RCDD LAN certifications, Dan holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Maine. He also trained at the Webb Institute of Naval Architecture, IBM's Project Management Bootcamp, and is certified in construction management, and TCP/IP Internetworking. Prior to joining Arup, Dan spent time in consulting, systems integration and contracting, and is fluent in all perspectives of deploying technology in the built environment. He has worked for BuildingWorx, Ubiquity Critical Environments, Environmental Systems Design, SunStrand Electric, and IBM. After graduating from college, Dan spent 15 months as a Peace Corps volunteer in the West Indies.
