NEW YORK, June 22, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Arup, the global design and consulting firm for the built environment, announces the promotions of three New York-based team members to Principal in the Americas Region.
"I am delighted to recognize these talented individuals," said Andy Howard, Chairman of the Americas Region. "All of them have singular strengths that put them at the top of our industry—and when considered collectively, they demonstrate that Arup is committed to delivering excellence, innovation, and value to our clients."
Jenny Buckley, CEng, joined Arup in 1998 and leads the aviation business in the Americas. With more than 20 years of experience, Jenny has an extensive resume of successful projects, from concept through construction, across a broad range of project types both locally and globally. In leading the Americas' aviation business, her strengths lie in her depth of project experience and in her ability to guide large, multidisciplinary project teams. Interfacing effectively with all design team members, she provides engineering advice and project management for a breadth of clients across an array of delivery methods.
Margaret Newman, FAIA, LEED AP BD+C, has over 25 years of experience as an architect and urban planner. Working across the many disciplines of engineering and design, she coordinates and manages the needs of multiple stakeholders and capably leads a wide range of project consultants.
Margaret has been a leader in the revitalization of New York City's public realm and a pioneer in shaping a new direction for streetscape design. She is designing projects that are not only strategic and economical, but that also prioritize people to better integrate planning and transportation into the fabric and context of cities.
Janine Witko, PE, leads the water business in the Americas and has over 30 years experience in a wide range of engineering projects. She has successfully managed and directed a variety of projects for municipal, private, and federal clients, utilizing both traditional and alternative project delivery methods, with a specific emphasis on the water sector. As a project director or manager, she has been responsible for several water system assignments associated with green infrastructure planning and design, water and wastewater planning and design, including collection, treatment and distribution systems, and asset management. These projects consider reliability and sustainability and involve data collection, condition assessments, forecasting, and the evaluation of alternatives.
In all, Arup promoted six to principal in the Americas.
