ArtsConnection Honors Mark Wahlberg And Richard Kirshenbaum At Spring Benefit Celebration On June 11th At Skylight West
NEW YORK, June 11, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- ArtsConnection, New York City's most comprehensive arts-in-education organization, is holding its spring benefit at Skylight West on Monday, June 11, 2012. ArtsConnection will honor Academy Award-nominated actor Mark Wahlberg and legendary ad man Richard Kirshenbaum. Award-winning television journalist and sportscaster Bryant Gumbel will host the evening, which will also include a live auction and a special performance by students from ArtsConnection's after school Steel Pan Drum program at P.S. 167 in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. The after school Steel Pan Drum program is made possible by the Mark Wahlberg Youth Foundation.
The event will be co-chaired by Lisa and Richard Plepler, Andrea and Marc Glimcher, Steve Levinson and Mort Zuckerman. The prestigious Janklow Awards will be presented to Steel Pan teaching artist Kenneth Salters and Ms. Marc Mardy, Principal of P.S. 167.
Since it was founded by Linda LeRoy Janklow in 1979, ArtsConnection has brought arts programs to over 3.5 million students in 800 public schools.
