Arts Live Central Website Launch Invites Arts Events To Connect
Non-profit initiative brings events together on one website
MIDLAND, Pa., Dec. 11, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Arts Live Central has launched as the new home for regional arts and cultural events in the western Pennsylvania, eastern Ohio, and northern West Virginia areas, Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center Managing Director, Sal Aloe, announced today.
"Arts Live Central serves as a website epicenter for patrons to find concerts, exhibits, musicals, recitals, auditions, plays, art shows, and other performances," Aloe said. "This non-profit initiative offers a dynamic, visually rich experience to those browsing its events listings."
According to Aloe, a featured master calendar houses all of the events, but users can also search through subpages by category for visual arts, theatre, dance, and music; event postings, which are viewable by date or keyword, also feature a graphic related to the event. It is free to post events to the site, and organizers are encouraged to upload their own artwork, but the site can also supply a generic one if needed. Each event undergoes a review before it goes live, in order to prevent spam or non-arts postings from reaching the site.
Aloe said the site targets for promotion and publicity events in underserved areas for the Pennsylvania counties of Beaver, Butler, Lawrence; Ohio areas surrounding East Liverpool, Youngstown, and Steubenville; and, West Virginia areas surrounding Wheeling. He said site organizers from those areas posted over 200 events in November, December and January for the site's soft launch November 1.
A vibrant blog page will also accompany the site, he said, in order to enrich the posted events and provide additional insight to interested patrons. Event organizers are encouraged to contribute their original content, including video clips from rehearsals, behind-the-scenes photographs, arts-related interviews, and other supplementary media, through the "Contact" page.
Arts Live Center is a program of Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center, and continues to fulfill the center's mission by strengthening the cultural, educational, and economic vitality of the region, encouraging all the arts to flourish.
"Realizing the need for a central location to see all the arts in our region, we created Arts Live Central. We're excited to launch and build this platform so more people can experience the arts," Aloe said.
