Artisans Showcase and Pickens General Store Open House

HEUVELTON, N.Y., April 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- An Artisans Showcase and Open House is planned for Monday, April 30 from 1pm to 4pm at Pickens Hall, 83 State Street, Heuvelton, NY.
The showcase is open to all local artists and crafts people who will feature a sampling of eight to 12 pieces of their work at Pickens Hall. Set up time runs from 9am till Noon, and a limited number of tables are available by request. A brief artist statement is required and should accompany the artisan's work. Space is limited, and a fee of $20 will be charged to vendors.
The Heuvelton Historical Association is proud of the work that has been accomplished at Pickens Hall, 83 State Street, Heuvelton. The retail arm of the organization, Pickens General Store, is hosting the event to support local artisans and open the door to future opportunities for artists and crafts people throughout the region. Established in 2007, Pickens General Store features "Hand Made Goods" and "Hand Crafted Gifts" created by the local Amish community of Upstate New York, along with their non-electric line of merchandise.

As an added feature, since Heuvelton is the traditional home of McCadam Cheese Company, there will be a cheese tasting sponsored by the farm families who own McCadam and Cabot Creamery Cooperative.
