Artisanal Online Grocery Service Artizone Partners with Local Grocer Brookhaven Marketplace to Offer Expanded Selection
Best possible products. Best possible prices.
CHICAGO, May 12, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- What if you could combine the best selection of artisan products from around the world with the values of a family-owned business and have all of these products conveniently delivered to your home? You can, thanks to a new partnership between Brookhaven Marketplace and Artizone, Chicagoland's only online and year-round marketplace for fresh, small-batch, artisan foods.
The concept for Brookhaven Marketplace began more than thirty-five years ago when John and Andy, two immigrant cousins from Greece, began new lives in the Chicago area. Andy started an open-air produce market at Kedzie and Lawrence in Chicago, calling it Andy's Fruit Ranch. Meanwhile, John opened an old world bakery/deli in Addison featuring imported foods from Eastern Europe and the Mediterranean called Minos Imported Foods.
Fast forward one generation and thirty years. John and Andy's sons combined their passion for the family business and realized that marrying the concept of a verdant produce store recognized for its variety, freshness, and low prices with a store selling the best in grocery staples and artisan foods would be a prosperous venture. Brookhaven Marketplace now has three locations in Darien, Mokena and Burr Ridge.
Through a new partnership with Artizone, the variety and quality of Brookhaven Market's products are now available to all Chicagoans. Highlights from the Brookhaven Marketplace storefront include a curated selection of dairy products, Boar's Head deli items, baking supplies, unique rices/grains and wine.
Brookhaven Marketplace is a natural partner for Artizone because of shared values when it comes to quality and community. "Artizone was looking for a partner to provide a curated selection of grocery staples to offer a complete shopping service for customers. In addition, we bring an element that complements what they are already doing by offering a huge variety of high-quality, specialty items," notes Brookhaven Marketplace co-owner John Peter Bertakis.
"The new-age grocery shopper asks for quality, uniqueness and convenience. Partnerships like the one we are building with Brookhaven allow our customers to enjoy all three, as one. We love the family-story that brought Brookhaven's market to be what it is, and we are honored to serve as the online channel for this local business," says Lior Lavy, COO of Artizone.com
The Brookhaven Marketplace team is eager to connect with new shoppers from all over the Chicago area. "As a small, family-run business, we are currently limited to our three physical locations. Artizone allows us to significantly expand our reach. People aren't going to drive 30 miles to go grocery shopping — no matter how great the store is. Artizone is going to deliver that quality to consumers that we simply couldn't reach," says Bertakis.
