Arthur C. Fleischer, M.D., is recognized by Continental Who's Who
NASHVILLE, Tenn., May 2, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Arthur C. Fleischer, M.D., is recognized by Continental Who's Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime Member in the Medical field.
Dr. Fleischer serves as the Medical Director of Medical Director of Sonography. His areas of expertise include sonographic imaging, especially of gynecological diseases and cancer. In addition, he works on clinical research and sonographic theranostics. He brings over 40 years of field experience to his role. "Being in the right place at the right time has been the key to my success," Dr. Fleischer said. "I am grateful to those who have directed and supported me."
Dr. Fleischer holds the Cornelius Vanderbilt Chair and is a Professor of Radiology and Radiology Sciences and OB-GYN.
Dr. Fleischer has contributed a number of published works to several different medical journals, including over 200 papers. He has also written 22 books throughout the course of his career. One of the 22 books is a leading book in OB/ultrasound imaging, titled: Sonography in OB/GYN: Principles and Practice, 7th Edition.
In recognition of his outstanding achievements in the field, Dr. Fleischer earned the following honors and awards: 2015 Lifetime Service Award from the American Board of Radiology; 2007 Distinguished Alumnus Award from The Medical College of Georgia; 2005 Frank H. Boehm Award for Contribution to Continuing Medical Education by Vanderbilt University School of Medicine; 2002 CANDLE Award from the Vanderbilt School of Medicine for excellence in medical student education.
Prior to starting his career, Dr. Fleischer earned his Medical degree from Medical College of Georgia, and attended Emory University from 1970-1973. He is Board certified in Radiology by the American Board of Radiology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Radiology; Fellow of the Society of Radiologists in Ultrasound; a current member and former President of the Society for the Advancement of Women's Imaging; and previously served on Board of Governors for American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine.
Dr. Fleischer's advice to those entering the medical field is to "be open to new challenges and ideas that involve both diagnosis and therapy ('theranostics'). Take a personalized approach and there is blurring of lines, of diagnoses and of therapies."
In looking to the future, Dr. Fleischer hopes to provide support and guidance to young investigators and provide clinical excellence.
Dr. Fleischer dedicates this recognition to his mother, Lucille Fleischer, J.D., who inspired him to be the best in academics.
