Artesian Raises $36,000 for the Boys & Girls Club of Cecil County, Maryland and CHILD, Inc. of Wilmington, Delaware
NEWARK, Del., Oct. 1, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Artesian Resources Corporation (NASDAQ: ARTNA) is proud to announce the outstanding success of its Third Annual Charitable fundraiser to benefit two great community organizations. On September 12, 2013, 34 golf foursomes joined together to make a difference for two very special organizations benefiting local children; the Boys & Girls Club of Cecil County, Maryland and CHILD, Inc., of Wilmington, Delaware.
This year's event raised a record $36,000, bringing the total amount raised over the three year period to $81,000. "Artesian is thrilled to be able to give back to the community," said Dian C. "Our third Annual Charitable Golf Outing would not have been possible without the generous participation of our corporate sponsors and our dedicated employees. Through their efforts and contributions, we are able to provide $18,000 this year to each of two remarkable causes, the Boys & Girls Club of Cecil County, Maryland and CHILD, Inc. of Delaware, both of which provide a critical supportive influence for children in our community."
The Boys and Girls Club of Cecil County, Maryland provides after-school care along with other activities to neighborhood children. It provides a positive and productive outlet for children offering educational and recreational programs after-school and during the summer. The Club is able to remain affordable through the communities' involvement and delivers a great foundation for the growth and development of children in Cecil County.
CHILD, Inc. of Wilmington, Delaware, in its 50th year, is a leading advocate for the children of Delaware. Their goal is to make a positive transformation in families' lives. CHILD, Inc. focuses on providing treatment and prevention assistance to those involved in domestic violence, especially children. Offering an emergency shelter for children, foster care, and other youth programs, along with multiple domestic violence services, they make a significant positive impact upon Delaware children in need.
