EMERYVILLE, Calif., Sept. 4, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Art.com Inc., the world's easiest place to discover, experience and buy art, has collaborated with the Keith Haring Foundation to produce a major collection of over 60 of the artist's works as fine art prints. Haring's intense creative spirit comes alive in this collection, which consists of rare drawings, Art.com originals, and classics like "Radiant Baby" and "Andy Mouse 1985."

Haring, who achieved fame in the early 1980s as part of the emerging alternative art scene on the streets of New York City, was renowned for using vivid colors, strong lines and iconic visual vocabulary. Not one to shy away from contemporary social issues, he was also recognized for making activism a central component of his work. Aside from the impressive company he kept—from artists Jean-Michel Basquiat and Andy Warhol to Madonna—Haring established his philanthropic legacy to cultivate arts with children and support those with HIV/AIDS before his untimely death in 1990.
"Keith Haring's art is imaginative, bold and forward-thinking, and we're thrilled to launch an entire collection that presents some of his most brilliant pieces," said Geoffroy Martin, CEO of Art.com Inc. "By exposing a new, larger audience to Haring's work, we hope art lovers are inspired by his themes of social activism and distinct perspective on the world."
In addition to the prints, Art.com's Keith Haring collection features a video produced by Haring while he studied at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. The clip, "Painting Myself into a Corner," shows the artist at work in an illustrative way—literally painting himself into a corner. Further, Art.com worked closely with the Keith Haring Foundation to develop original designs that showcase Haring's inspirational quotes on his life and work through self-portrait Polaroid photos.
It's the Foundation's mission to stay true to Haring's belief that art should be accessible to everyone, and part of that effort is to introduce prospective new art enthusiasts to his work. The Foundation works to raise awareness not only of Haring's talent but also of his social and philanthropic passions.
