Art Van Furniture's Million Dollar Charity Challenge "Bonus Challenge" To Award $50,000 To Michigan Charities

WARREN, Mich., May 16, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The race is on! 150 Michigan charities have the chance to win $50,000 in grants as part of the 2013 Art Van Million Dollar Charity Challenge "Bonus Challenge" and the public can help choose the winners.  The Bonus Challenge, which calls for each non-profit to secure the most online votes from members of the community, begins on Thursday, May 16 at 7 p.m. and continues through Thursday, May 30 at 11:59pm. Art Van Furniture will award $25,000 to the organization with the most votes; $15,000 to the charity with the second highest vote total and $10,000 to the third largest vote-getter.

Each organization is responsible for motivating their members, supporters and the community at large to cast votes online at artvancharitychallenge.com.  The contest has been lively and intense during its two previous years, with organizations mounting creative voting campaigns that included videos, billboards and social media initiatives on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
