Art Van Furniture Strengthens Its Commitment To Excellent Service

WARREN, Mich., April 24, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Art Van Furniture announced today the hiring of Steve Caprario to the position of Vice President of Warehousing and Distribution.  Caprario's responsibilities include all facets of Logistics, Central Services and Home Delivery.  He is also in charge of Quality Assurance and Repair Center Operations.

"This is a huge job that includes managing our 1,000,000 square-foot warehouse along with 250 employees, over 200 trucks and efficient delivery of millions of dollars of inventory at any given time," explains Art Van President Gary Van Elslander, to whom Caprario will report.  "We're confident that he's the right man for the job and we're happy to welcome him to our leadership team."

Caprario joins Art Van Furniture with over 15 years of experience in furniture distribution.  His most recent position was Senior Vice President of Operations, Logistics and Customer Care for Bob's Discount Furniture, a multi-million dollar East Coast furniture retailer.  There, he was in charge of multiple distribution centers and a multi-state delivery operation. 

Previous to this position Caprario held several vice president-level positions for Foley's Department Stores in Texas.  Early in his career he also held positions in finance for Robinson's-May Department Stores and the Walt Disney Company.
