Art Van Furniture Is Coming To The Soo!

WARREN, Mich., Aug. 1, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Art Van Furniture is expanding its presence in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, adding a new franchise location in Sault Sainte Marie.  Michigan's No. 1 furniture and mattress retailer has signed an agreement with Erickson Appliance & Furniture.  The new franchise store, which will be located in the former Shunk building, will be called Art Van Furniture & Erickson Appliance.

"The Erickson family possesses over 45 years of retail expertise in this region, and partnering with Art Van Furniture adds up to almost a century of offering the finest products and outstanding customer service," said Art Van Elslander, founder and chairman of Art Van Furniture.  "Working with three generations of the Erickson family, including founders Keith and Joanne Erickson and their sons Don and Tom, is an exciting new chapter for the community."

Art Van Furniture & Erickson Appliance store will be located at 3889 I-75 Business Spur. A complete renovation will begin in August, 2013 on the 24,000 square foot showroom and warehouses. The new store is scheduled to open on or before November 1, 2013, and will feature Art Van PureSleep and clearance merchandise. A dozen new jobs will be created.

Earlier this summer, Art Van Furniture announced it will open another Upper Peninsula franchise in Marquette.
