HOUSTON, Aug. 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Pinot's Palette, a national paint-and-sip franchise known for providing guests with an entertaining evening of art and wine, is pleased to announce that eight of its Texas studios will participate in the company's Art Tasting charity event, which kicks off on August 15.

The Art Tasting event – which features interactive art exhibits; wine and food tastings; and art auctions – began as a corporate event in 2010, says company Franchise Development Manager Lori Lockerd. Since then, the Art Tasting has expanded across the Lone Star State.
This year, participating franchises – including Alamo Heights, Allen, the Galleria, Katy, Montrose, South Lamar, Sugar Land, and The Woodlands -- will partner with their choice of local charity as well as local food and wine vendors to create unique, local events. Each location will also provide hands-on art activities. For example, at the Sugar Land location, the Art Tasting menu will include samplings from Café Express and Turquoise Grill & Bar. San Antonio Art Tasting attendees will make their own key chains and create "self-guided" paintings.
The Art Tasting will also include an opportunity to purchase each location's "duplicate" paintings. "At the beginning of every class, there's an example painting hanging up, and then the artist paints one along with the class – so we end up with duplicates. This is the one time of year that we sell our paintings to the public," says Lockerd.
Proceeds from the Art Tasting will go to a local charity. Benefitting charities include Allen Community Outreach; Carrie's Heart; The Center for Hearing and Speech; Susan G. Komen for the Cure; Montgomery County Youth Services; and the Fort Bend Junior League.
The Texas Art Tasting will kick off August 15 at the Woodlands and Sugar Land Pinot's Palette locations. A special "VIP" event will take place at the company's original Montrose location on August 16.
Additional Pinot's Palette locations – including the Galleria, Katy, Allen, Alamo Heights (San Antonio), and South Lamar (Austin) – will host Art Tasting events on August 17. Tickets will cost $25 if purchased in advance and $30 at the door.
Dates, times, and activities for the Art Tasting will vary by location. For more information, or to buy tickets to an Art Tasting event, visit www.TheArtTasting.com.
