Art Reception at Embassy of Austria Benefits Homeless
WASHINGTON, April 24, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Roger Nakazawa Art Reception will be held at the Embassy of Austria in Washington DC on Friday, May 2, 2014, 6:30pm to 9:30pm and will benefit Charlies Place, a homeless service center. Produced by Bruce McBarnette and Summit Connection LLC, this art reception will display a variety of work from artists from the East coast.
"It was so wonderful that the Ambassador of Austria, Dr. Hans Peter Manz, is willing to allow this event to be held at the Embassy. The Embassy of Austria is one of the most beautiful embassies in Washington, DC," said McBarnette, an attorney, realtor, and a world champion in track and field. McBarnette has organized charitable events in Washington, DC for many years and has volunteered with Charlies Place, which will receive 30% of the proceeds from the art sales from the event.
The major sponsor of the reception is Roger Nakazawa a successful real estate investor and realtor in Northern Virginia. Nakazawa is President of Ubi 1 LLC and has contributed generously to a variety of charities in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, including the Loudoun Symphony Ochestra.
The art work will consist of oils, water color, wood cuts, and photography. The artists will include Myra Maslowsky, who is the curator for the event, Phil Bolles, Stephanie Grover, Donna Shields, Norman Strike, Eloy Areu, and Katie Ikeler .
The hosts for the event include Ingrid Parris-Hicklin, a TV talk show host, Beverly Burke, a former CBS News anchor and current producer for WEAA Radio; and Chris Addison and Sylvia Ripley , the owners of Addison/Ripley Art Gallery in Washington, DC.
