ART ON DEKZ, is proud to feature Marcus Jansen's work "Spotlight on Education", on the cover of "THE ART ALBUM" ART ON DEKZ, a Russell Simmons sponsored art project in New York City to be released this year. A project put together by Dawud Knuckles. The cover is being designed by renowned Photographer GL Wood and features Internationally renowned painters like US artists, Kehinde Wiley, Shepard Fairey, Chuck Close, Marlene Dumas as well as Japanese artist Takashi Murakami, and Germany's leading names like Jonathan Meese and Daniel Richter. Musicians like Jay - Z and Ludacris are also featured.

What if the biggest names in music and visual art could come together to tell you firsthand what they meant in their most popular work in recent years, as you count down to who is the hottest right now? Well that's precisely what Art on Dekz is doing with The Art Album, an illustrated book celebrating the long-standing relationship between the visual arts and hip-hop.

The objective of the project is to showcase the art behind the lyrics of hip-hop in juxtaposition with similar themes in contemporary art thereby encouraging readers to consider the meaning and value behind these works and themes and large. This concept of presenting songs, art, and interviews alongside each other affords incomparable insight into the influence that hip-hop has on contemporary culture, and the unquestioned significance this subculture has exercised on present-day society.

Jansen will have several works featured in the book. His work can be seen at the next International Art Fair ART VERONA Italy on October 10. 2013 this year following a solo exhibition with his Italian gallery representatives Galleria Bianca Maria Rizzi & Matthias Ritter from Milan.

Jansen's Museum collections include The Moscow Museum of Modern Art (MMOMA), Russia, The PERMM Museum of Contemporary Art, Russia, The New Britain Museum of American Art, CT, The Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, MO,The National Taiwan Museum of Fine Art, Taiwan and the Smithsonian Institution in Washington DC. Jansen is also one of the ABSOLUT VODKA artist's of this century alongside names Damien Hirst, Andy Warhol and Keith Haring.

Jansen works out of Southwest Florida, his awards include the New American Paintings Alumni inclusion 2011, The Aesthetica Art Prize 2012, United Kingdom, The Laguna Art Prize 2013, Venice Italy, the Dave Bown Project Award in 2012 and inclusion at the Fleurieu Art Prize 2013 Biennale, Australia noted as the highest valued landscape painting prize anywhere in the world curated by Nigel Hurst, Director & Chief Executive, Saatchi Gallery London.
