SUWANEE, Ga., Feb. 14, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- ARRIS International plc (NASDAQ: ARRS) today announced that a wide range of global operators have deployed the second-generation (Gen 2) modules for its E6000® Converged Edge Router (CER) CCAP™ platform.
The E6000 CER is already the world's most widely deployed CCAP platform. The Gen 2 modules – which ARRIS announced in October 2017 – enable customers to upgrade existing chassis to achieve up to a 70 percent increase in headend service group density without consuming more rack space. Operators worldwide can immediately deliver multi-Gigabit broadband services and evolve to full end-to-end IP video services. Additionally, the ARRIS Gen 2 modules provide a software-based headend upgrade path to the Remote PHY Distributed Access Architecture (DAA) – for more than a three-fold Service Group density increase within the same rack-space footprint.
"ARRIS has a deep understanding of the constant demands our customers face to meet ever-increasing bandwidth, infrastructure and efficiency requirements," said Dan Whalen, ARRIS President, Network & Cloud. "We worked hand-in-hand with the world's leading operators to develop the ARRIS E6000 Gen 2 modules, and subsequently deploy them in both large and small-scale network environments to facilitate this global rollout."
ARRIS E6000 Gen 2 modules enable global operators of all sizes to achieve both cost savings and capacity upgrades from their HFC access networks, regardless of network composition and scale – and leverage their existing investments to deliver the future of broadband and video.
