Arnold Worldwide Names Ed Castillo Global Chief Strategy Officer
Global President Pam Hamlin Continues to Strengthen Agency's Strategy Offering
BOSTON, Jan. 25, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Global creative agency Arnold Worldwide announced today that it has appointed Ed Castillo to the newly created role of Global Chief Strategy Officer, effective immediately. This hire is part of Global President Pam Hamlin's efforts to continue to accelerate an already defining capability at Arnold, bringing together business and brand strategy.
Castillo brings to Arnold a wealth of creative and media experience, having worked with some of the country's most awarded agencies. Over his career, Castillo has helped build iconic brand platforms for globally recognized companies and establish a winning track record in new business.
"Ed is an exciting and critical addition to Arnold's leadership team," said Hamlin. "What really impressed us about Ed is his multifaceted experience, including research, media and brand strategy. I am pleased to welcome him to Arnold, and know he will be a wonderful fit at the agency. Ed will play an important role in continuing to fuel Arnold's momentum."
Castillo will report directly to Hamlin and partner with Global Chief Creative Officer Jim Elliott as part of their plan to elevate Arnold's creative product across the network. He will also work closely with Nisha Dass, EVP, Global Director, Business Strategy & Analytics, Corporate Strategy, to drive strategic efforts across the agency's entire client portfolio.
"I'm attracted to Arnold's proud heritage of strategic rigor in the service of creativity," said Castillo. "As the world changes, the meaningful integration of art and science in communications becomes ever more important. Arnold accomplishes this every day."
Formerly, as Chief Strategy Officer of TBWA\Chiat\Day New York, Castillo played a key role in driving the new business success of the agency. In his last year there, he shepherded pitches with a number of leading brands including GoDaddy (globally), Thomson Reuters (globally) and Travelers Insurance. Prior to TBWA\Chiat\Day, Castillo served as SVP, Global Strategy Director at McCann Worldwide, where he led strategy on the brand reinvigoration of American Airlines, following Chapter 11 reorganization.
Castillo first collaborated with Arnold Worldwide on the "truth" initiative, while serving as SVP, Director of Account Planning at PHD. Notably, as Director of Strategic Planning at R&R Partners in Las Vegas, NV, Castillo helped develop the "What Happens Here Stays Here" campaign, which earned the "Grand Marketer of the Year" award from Brandweek.
"Killer strategic insights that lead to inspiring work is the name of the game, and Ed has built an enviable career based on just that. I'm beyond excited to partner with him," said Elliott. "Plus, he's a genuinely great, fun guy – a true culture builder – so it's really terrific having him in the Arnold family."
