Arnold NY Names Sara Bamber Head of Strategy
Global President Pam Hamlin Continues to Power Up Arnold
NEW YORK, Jan. 6, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Global creative agency Arnold Worldwide announced today the appointment of Sara Bamber as Head of Strategy in the agency's New York office. Bamber will report to New York President Peter Grossman and be tasked with leading and growing the office's integrated strategy team. Bamber is Grossman's first major hire since joining Arnold in July 2014.
Bamber brings a wealth of best-in-class strategy experience, having worked in multiple categories and on major brands including Coca-Cola, Mercedes-Benz, Virgin America, Nivea and Eli Lilly. She was most recently Chief Strategy Officer at FCB Garfinkel, where she led a strategy practice that included 40 brand, research, digital and user experience planners. Under her strategic stewardship, the agency experienced a new business turnaround, winning $20 plus million in revenue. While there, Bamber also oversaw the highly innovative and award-winning Oreo Daily Twist campaign. Prior to FCB she worked at a number of leading creative and digital shops including Anomaly, TBWA/Chiat/Day and SapientNitro.
As Head of Strategy at Arnold NY, Bamber will have responsibility for all brands across the client portfolio and be a key player in driving the office's aggressive growth agenda. She replaces Beth Fetzer, who remains at Arnold but opted to reduce her schedule and focus exclusively on client business.
In making the hire, Grossman cited Bamber's cross-channel experience, problem-solving skills, and her ability to fuse strategic rigor with creative inspiration. He commented, "Sara has a proven track record of fueling creativity with consumer insights that inspire ideas, unlock opportunities and drive business impact. She will play an important role in helping Arnold make creativity a leverageable business advantage for our clients."
The move is part of Global President Pam Hamlin's plan to power up Arnold's New York offering and fuel agency momentum with a leadership team that has deep hybrid experience and proven new business track records. This summer, Hamlin hired Grossman – formerly a digital start-up entrepreneur and Managing Director at JWT New York – to run the office as President. She also brought on Christine Beeby, Executive Director, from Ogilvy to partner with Gary Scheiner, Executive Creative Director, to run the Health and Wellness Practice. In the second half of 2014, Arnold NYC won the global agency of record assignment for KAO's John Frieda and Jergens brands and expanded the agency's relationship with current client Sanofi.
In joining the agency, Bamber talked about her longstanding respect for the Arnold brand and its reputation for strategic and creative excellence. She's excited to be part of a progressive agency team that thinks holistically and acts nimbly to provide clients with ambitious business ideas that catalyze cross-channel and long-term campaigns. "Arnold has the entrepreneurial vibe that I look for – because this is essential for success in today's innovation-hungry marketing environment."
