Arnold 'Arnie' Staloff Joins Gigapix Studios Board
LOS ANGELES, Jan. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Gigapix Studios Chairman and CEO, Chris Blauvelt, announced today that Arnold "Arnie" Staloff has joined the Board of Directors of Gigapix Studios. "Arnie Staloff is one of the premier securities executives in the country," said Blauvelt. "We are delighted that he has agreed to join the Board. Arnie brings the experience and the insight necessary to help guide Gigapix through its next stage of growth."
Arnie began his career with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Trading and Markets Division, in 1968. He joined the Philadelphia Stock Exchange (PHLX) in 1971 and, in 1978, he left to become vice president of the Securities Industry Automation Corporation. In 1980 he returned to the PHLX as president of the Financial Automation Corporation of Philadelphia, another PHLX subsidiary. He was named President of the Philadelphia Board of Trade in 1985, and then became President and CEO of The COMEX, the world's premier exchange for gold and other precious metals. Several books that chronicle the beginning of options trading credit Staloff for bringing powerful financial tools into the world, including the invention of Options on Foreign Currencies.
He has also served as a board member of several other organizations including the Options Clearing Corporation, the Composite Tape Association, the Options Price Reporting Authority, the National Futures Association, the Swiss Commodities, Futures, and Options Association, the Philadelphia International Airport Advisory Board and its Executive Committee and the Variety Club for Handicapped Children.
