SAN ANTONIO, Nov. 2, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- As missions and priorities evolve, so do the needs of our military. Army OneSource has adapted to create military and civilian partnerships to meet the emerging and critical needs of Service members, Families and Veterans. Some of the program enhancements have included launching Military Cultural Competency training for civilian professionals and creating an online resource for military and civilian partners to obtain training tools, case studies and best practices.
This year, Army OneSource, in collaboration with the Center for Deployment Psychology, has assisted in the planning efforts of a free webinar series that will be hosted during Joining Forces Wellness Week, scheduled for November 7–11. These free training opportunities will be offered each day of the week from 12pm–1 pm ET and are open to service providers and students who serve the military population. "Army OneSource is aimed at connecting military and civilian systems, resources and partnerships. It is through these connections that we can truly make an impact to improve care of our Service members, their Families and Veterans. The partnership with Joining Forces Wellness Week is tremendously valuable to our efforts. It provides a national platform for collaboration, education and advocacy. We look forward to educating thousands of service providers through an engaging webinar series throughout the week," said David Severson, Program Manager of Outreach & Strategic Integration at United States Army Installation Management Command. In recognition of Veterans Day, the presentations will feature experts from medical schools, the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Department of Defense and others who will focus on topics regarding the unique health care needs of Service members, Families, Veterans and caregivers.
The Wellness Week schedule is below:
- Nov. 7 — Joining Forces to Address Suicide in the Military and Veterans
