Armstrong County Couple Wins $1 Million from PA Lottery Instant Game
NATRONA HEIGHTS, Pa., Oct. 27 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Denise and James Cornman, of Freeport, Armstrong County, won $1 million from the Pennsylvania Lottery's instant game Golden Millions.
Lottery Area Supervisor Margaret Dellana today presented a ceremonial check to the couple at Sunoco on Freeport Road in Natrona Heights, Allegheny County, where the ticket was purchased. The store receives a $5,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
Denise called her husband shortly after scratching off the winning ticket.
"When she first called, she was crying, so I couldn't really understand her," said James, who eventually learned that they had won a $1 million prize.
"My husband and his friends always had a pact that if one of them was to win the lottery, they would go on a hunting trip together," Denise said. The retired couple is also making plans to remodel their home, purchase a new car and invest the rest of the prize money.
Golden Millions, $20 per ticket, offers three top prizes of $1 million, 15 prizes from $10,000 to $100,000 and more than $32 million in total cash prizes. One top prize remains to be claimed. The odds of winning a top prize in Golden Millions are 1-in-720,000, while the overall odds of winning any prize are 1-in-3.18.
