WASHINGTON, May 1, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide will be the subject of a Newsmaker news conference at the National Press Club's Broadcast Center on Thursday, May 7 at 10 a.m.
Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, Chief of Staff to the President of Armenia Vigen Sarkisian, and NCAGC Chairman and 100 LIVES Co-Founder Noubar Afeyan, will discuss the events of 100 years ago and also will highlight memorial events being held in Washington and across the globe during the week by the Armenian community.
Thousands of Armenians, along with policymakers, religious leaders from the U.S., Canada and around the world – will be gathering on May 7-9 in Washington, D.C., to remember the 1.5 million men, women and children who perished a century ago. Commemoration events also will honor individuals and organizations that worked to save Armenians in 1915.
This Newsmakers news conference is scheduled for Thursday, May 7 at 10 a.m. in the NPC Broadcast Operations Center, on the fourth floor of the National Press Building at 529 14th Street NW, Washington DC 20045.
