ATLANTA, March 3 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Armed Forces Foundation (AFF) announced today that Aaron's, Inc. The award will be presented this evening at the 6th Annual AFF Congressional Gala, hosted by Senior Congressional members. Ken Butler, Aaron's, Inc. Chief Operating Officer, will accept the award on the company's behalf. Aaron's was nominated by service members at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and the National Naval Medical Center, then selected by a committee of the Executive Board of the AFF.
"Aaron's exercises its support of our nation's military to the fullest extent, and it's apparent in everything they do," said Patricia Driscoll, AFF President and Executive Director. "Selecting Aaron's as this year's Humanitarian of the Year was a no brainer, and we have no doubt they will live up to the recognition this year and beyond."
"The AFF is an outstanding organization, and it is a highest honor to be named Humanitarian of the Year," said Robin Loudermilk, Aaron's President and CEO. "What we give to the military is miniscule in comparison to what they give us, but we hope our example encourages other companies and individuals to offer their support as we have. Together, our affect would be tremendous."
This was the first year the AFF Executive Board committee was faced with an unbreakable tie. As a result, Aaron's shares this year's Humanitarian of the Year distinction with the NASCAR Corporation.
