LITTLE ROCK, Ark., Feb. 4, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Please join State Senator Jake Files in the Senate chamber at 11:30 a.m. and State Representative George McGill in the House chamber at 1:30 p.m. as they present resolutions to honor the 25th anniversary of the Affordable Housing Program (AHP) from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas (FHLB Dallas).
The AHP was designed to help FHLB Dallas member financial institutions develop affordable owner-occupied and rental housing for very low- to moderate-income families and individuals. The program provides grants to assist members in meeting their communities' affordable housing needs. Members partner with local housing organizations (project sponsors) or other entities to develop AHP projects. Since the program's inception in 1990, more than $286 million in competitive AHP grants has been awarded primarily across FHLB Dallas' five-state District of Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, and Texas for the construction or rehabilitation of more than 41,000 owner-occupied and rental units.
