ADDISON, Ill., Aug. 16, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Today Arjo announced that Adventist Health Sonora has accepted its nomination as a 2018 Diligent Consulting Center of Excellence. Arjo is recognizing the California-based medical center for its demonstrated commitment to safe patient handling, early mobility, and patient outcomes.
Throughout the three-year clinical program, Adventist Health Sonora significantly reduced patient handling-related injuries and costs, and strengthened a culture of safety. The program helped Adventist Health Sonora to achieve annual patient handling reductions up to 97% and to transfer nearly $1.8 million from its Workers' Compensation Trust back into the operating budget.
"We are pleased to recognize the safety-focused culture of Adventist Health Sonora, as well as its outstanding outcomes," said Anne Sigouin, president of Arjo, North America. "Their success exemplifies how impactful the Diligent partnership can be."
In 2000, Arjo founded Diligent Consulting to help health care facilities address the challenges they face with safely mobilizing patients and residents. Over the last 18 years, Diligent Consulting has worked with more than 800 facilities to develop and sustain these programs, which are powered by a team of clinical consultants and a 60% guaranteed reduction in patient handling injuries.
