Arizona Technology Council's Southern Arizona Tech + Business Expo Honors Technology and Manufacturing Leader of the Year

TUCSON, Ariz., Oct. 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Arizona Technology Council will host the second annual Southern Arizona Tech + Business Expo, on October 15, 2014, from 12:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Westin La Paloma Resort and Spa located at 3800 E. Sunrise Drive, Tucson, Arizona, 85747. The Council will present Dr. Mo Ehsani, Professor Emeritus of Structural Engineering at the University of Arizona and President of QuakeWrap Inc. with the Southern Arizona Technology Leader of the Year award, and CAID Industries, Inc. with Southern Arizona Manufacturer of the Year award.

"Both Dr. Ehsani and CAID Industries have demonstrated innovation and leadership in both technology and manufacturing and we are pleased to honor them at this event," said Alex Rodriguez, vice president of the Southern Arizona Office of the Arizona Technology Council. "Southern Arizona manufacturers and technology companies are diverse and growing. At the Expo we hope to showcase the companies and provide value to them in the form of our expert panel discussions."

Working in collaboration with the Southern Arizona Manufacturing Partners, the Arizona Manufacturers Council, the RevAZ Program of the Arizona Commerce Authority and the University of Arizona's Tech Launch Arizona, the Council has also assembled two panel discussions at the event on the topics of access to capital and business growth led by industry experts. 

An exhibition showcasing the region's diverse manufacturing companies will be held throughout the day. On-site registration and Expo open at 12:30 p.m. with the panel discussions starting at 1:15 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.  Keynote address given by Steve Macias, Chairman of the Arizona Manufacturers Council and president of Pivot Manufacturing will start at 3:30 p.m. with award presentation to follow. To conclude, the event a cocktail reception and networking mixer will be held from 4:45 – 6:30 p.m.
