Arizona State Library Chooses LearningExpress Job & Career Accelerator™
NEW YORK, July 30, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- LearningExpress, LLC today announced that its award-winning Job & Career Accelerator online tool has been chosen by the Arizona State Library and the Arizona Job Assistance Centers (AzJAC) and is now available to Arizona residents.
"Arizona's libraries have always had a lot to offer job-seekers. Through the Arizona Job Assistance Centers project, they are able to provide even more resources, at a time when needs are great," said Janet Fisher, Arizona's interim State Librarian. "The subscription to Job & Career Accelerator is just one piece of a larger program that is providing Arizonans with greater access to computers and the Internet, new information resources and software, and instruction to assist with every step of the job search process."
The AzJAC project has two main components; Virtual Workforce Workstations (VWW) and Job Help Hub (JHH) labs. VWW computers, public access computers dedicated to job seekers, have been placed in nearly every public library in Arizona. Anyone with a library card can sign up to use a VWW to access Job & Career Accelerator or work on a job search. JHH labs have been implemented in 28 public and tribal libraries around the state to teach the skills necessary to join the 21st century workforce and to provide one-on-one assistance for job seekers. Those with limited computer experience can go to a Job Help Hub to learn how to get started with Job & Career Accelerator.
Job & Career Accelerator includes everything needed to select the right career and search for jobs, all within a secure individual sign-in and easy-to-use online application. Job seekers have access to resume writing and letter creating tools, expert tutorials on mastering interviewing techniques, research into more than 1,000 occupations mapped to an individual's interest assessments and a model resume bank with expert usage tips. Expert guidance is given for personalized career situations and users have access to an integrated database of over 5 million current job and internship opportunities.
"We are pleased to partner with the Arizona State Library and AzJAC," said Barry Lippman, CEO of LearningExpress, LLC. "Job & Career Accelerator is the perfect online tool for Arizona residents looking for help with their job search and we are excited to be available through the Arizona Job Assistance Centers, as well as Arizona public libraries."
AzJAC is a project of the Arizona Governor's Office of Economic Recovery in partnership with the Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Records, a division of the Secretary of State.
