Arizona American Water Wins Top Awards at Arizona Water Conference
East Valley Employees Honored for Being Top in the State
PHOENIX, May 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Arizona American Water employees received several awards at the Arizona Water Association's 83rd Annual Conference and Exhibition in Glendale last week.
"I am extremely proud of our operations team and the complete dedication they give each and everyday in treating both our wastewater and our drinking water," said Troy Day, Vice President of Operations for Arizona American Water. "These individuals make sure that the water we treat is safe and the water we deliver is clean, high quality water."
Among the winners were Operations Supervisor Ygnasio Samarripa, who was recognized as Wastewater Supervisor of the Year. Samarripa works out at the Northwest Valley Water Reclamation Facility.
Maintenance Operator Gilbert Cordova was named System Mechanic of the Year. Cordova works at the Northwest Valley Water Reclamation Facility.
Operations supervisor John Lulewicz also accepted Letters of Commendation in recognition and appreciation of outstanding safety records in 2009 for Tubac's combined Water distribution and Treatment Operations, Anthem's Water Distribution System, Paradise Valley's Water Distribution System and Water Treatment Facility. Anthem also won an Award of Honor for Wastewater Collection System Operations. Wastewater Operator Scott Flanagan accepted a safety award for the Northwest Valley team.
