Aristotle's Integrity™ Service Wins Regulator's Nod for Gaming Compliance
Age- and Identity-Verification Company placed on the New Jersey Preliminary Approval List
Action Follows Unanimous Approval by Regulators in Nevada and at Federal Trade Commission
WASHINGTON, Nov. 13, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Aristotle's Integrity division, the leading global provider of online age and identity verification, has received notification of preliminary approval for online gaming compliance services from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE).
Twelve Ancillary Casino Service Industry Enterprises (CSIE) have been approved to preliminarily enter into agreements with casino licensees and internet gaming permit holders. The ancillary companies include: Aristotle International, Inc., Geocomply Inc., Securetrading, Inc., Xyverify Corp., Pokertrip Enterprises, Inc., Dbi Staffing, Locaid, Llc., Poker Venture, Llc., Player Verify, Llc., Certegy Check Services, Inc., Cognitive Box Consulting, Llc. and U.S. Casino Marketing, Llc.
The approvals come only weeks before the launch of intrastate online gaming in New Jersey, which is scheduled to go live on Nov. 26. New Jersey will become the third state to offer legal and regulated online betting. Under state law, only New Jersey casinos, those within Atlantic City, can run the games.
Tropicana Casino and Resort, Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort, Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino and the Golden Nugget have all been granted licenses for online gaming in the state of New Jersey. In Nevada, sites can only offer online poker, but in New Jersey operators will be allowed to offer any game already available in an actual casino. Now Atlantic City casino operators are looking for companies with experience in the iGaming world to keep kids off iGaming websites.
Any company not on the published CSIE list at this time cannot enter into agreements with casino licensees and internet gaming permit holders to offer age- or identity-verification services for remote gaming to New Jersey citizens. Notably absent from the published CSIE list is credit bureau Experian (EXPGF), which has been called to testify before Congress on the problems afflicting the identity verification portions of the Obamacare website. Also absent from the published list are data giant LexisNexis, and two non-U.S. based companies GB Group (GBG) and 192.com, which have struggled for years to establish identify-verification solutions in the U.S.
"We are thrilled to have been granted this preliminary go ahead from the New Jersey gaming regulators," said Aristotle CEO John Aristotle Phillips. "It is extremely important to us that it is easy and effective for citizens to verify their identities and ages while protecting their privacy."
In June of this year, Aristotle's Integrity system was approved by the Nevada Gaming Commission for a Class 2 Gaming Supplier License for geo-location and patron identification services.
This secure verification solution also includes an innovative video verification using Skype, which had been previously evaluated and approved by the Federal Trade Commission for compliance purposes under COPPA, The Child Online Privacy Protection Act. COPPA requires verification of parental consent when collecting information from a child under the age of 13.
"We have verified the identities of more than 50 million citizens worldwide for more than a decade without a single fine," said Phillips. "We stand behind the accuracy of the service by indemnifying the merchant against fines or legal fees. While this is a major victory for the gaming industry, it also likely signals increased scrutiny and regulations for all online operators. Aristotle is urging managers in these companies who are not already doing so, to protect their sites from access by minors or self-described 'problem gamblers' by implementing proven age- and identity-verification systems."
Aristotle's Integrity system is used on secure sites world-wide to legally authorize online adult users, making the sites a safe gaming ground for the public and protecting the site operators and their brands. Integrity uses multiple sources of data and sophisticated algorithms for instant verification of legitimate adult customers while rejecting minors and fraudsters. With continuous direct access to a wide range of identity data, including government data spanning over 150 countries and 3.4 billion citizens world-wide, Integrity is the most comprehensive service of its kind. It also meets or exceeds U.S. federal requirements for age verification as stipulated by the federal PACT Act (Prevent All Cigarette Trafficking Act of 2010), which incorporates the most recent single federal standard for online age verification by verifying the information through the use of a commercially available database or aggregate of databases, consisting primarily of data from government sources, that are regularly used by government and businesses for the purpose of age- and identity-verification authentication.
Integrity has been providing accurate age and identity verification to state lotteries and licensed gambling operators in Alderney, France, Gibraltar, Isle of Man, Malta, the U.K. and U.S. for as long as a decade in some jurisdictions.
According to Forbes Magazine, Integrity is the "market leader" in age- and identity- verification services. Aristotle's Integrity is the only such service that insures operators against any fines or legal fees stemming from unauthorized underage access to sites using its Integrity technology.
