ROCHESTER, N.Y., Jan. 8, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Arista Power, Inc. ("Arista Power" or the "Company") (OTCBB: ASPW) announced today that it has received an order for a Mobile Renewable Power Station (MRPS) and extended support agreement from a U.S. Government Agency.

The MRPS combines Arista Power's state-of-the-art energy storage, power distribution and patent pending system controls and intelligence along with energy generation from solar PV to create a complete micro-grid perfectly suited for power at remote locations. The system can be transported by commercial vehicles and is designed to replace diesel fuel generators for continuous operations. The system will be used to power communications equipment in a remote location where energy security and reliability is considered mission critical.
"Our system is a preferable alternative to using diesel generators in the field and not only results in fuel savings for the U.S. government but also reduces the additional logistical cost required to provide fossil fuel to remote locations on a regular basis. We are excited about the field success of our MRPS and feel that recent orders for the MRPS, both of the commercial and government variety, validate that our systems are meeting the needs of our customers. Wherever there is a need for off grid power, such as remote locations or disaster recovery situations, we are seeing increasing interest in our Mobile Renewable Power Station - both in the commercial market and from a number of government agencies," said Mark Matthews, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Arista Power.
Adeeb Saba, Vice President of Engineering for Arista Power, said, "We are very pleased to have another order from the U.S. Government for our MRPS and are excited to take the advancements we have developed from the work we are doing with the U.S. Army on intelligent scalable micro-grids and apply them to this new MRPS. The new controls we have developed for the MRPS can be configured to incorporate a variety of energy storage and generation technologies to service virtually any power requirement. With our customized remote monitoring capabilities, the system can be managed from anywhere in the world."
About Arista Power's Renewable Power Stations
Arista Power's Renewable Power Station (RPS) and Mobile Renewable Power Station (MRPS) utilize energy generated from solar PV, wind, generators, fuel cells, and other energy-generating devices that are stored in an integrated onboard storage device for off-grid and remote applications. Arista Power has designed the Renewable Power Station and the Mobile Renewable Power Station to be able to adjust the composition of the various energy sources depending on each customer's available renewable energy, power needs and budget. Stationary and scalable, the Renewable Power Station is a containerized system that can be drop-shipped to the end user at off-grid locations to be used as a micro-grid for power needs. The Mobile Renewable Power Station is trailer mounted and is ruggedized to be transported to different locations where off-grid power may be needed. Arista Power's stationary Renewable Power Station and their Mobile Renewable Power Station can be used virtually anywhere, including remote areas of the world where either no electricity exists or where there are severe power outages through poor supply and inconsistent delivery, or for any consumer who prefers to be grid independent. Because emission-producing diesel generators cause pollution, are costly to maintain, and the cost of fuel can be very expensive in difficult to access areas, Arista Power expects there to be significant interest in renewable generation for off-grid and back-up power applications, and for such interest to accelerate.
Applications: off-grid applications such as remote locations, water pumping stations, telecommunications towers, oil and gas drilling sites, mining operations, border patrol, campsites, community centers at remote villages, disaster recovery operations, back up for power blackouts and grid strain, remote communications towers, or battery charging stations at military bases.
About Arista Power, Inc.
Arista Power, Inc. is a developer, manufacturer, and supplier of custom-designed power management systems, renewable energy storage systems, WindTamer wind turbines, and a supplier and designer of solar energy systems. Arista Power's patent-pending Power on Demand system utilizes inputs from multiple energy sources including wind, solar, fuel cells, and the grid, in conjunction with a custom-designed battery storage system and a proprietary smart monitoring technology that releases energy at optimal times to reduce peak power demand, thereby lowering electricity costs for large energy users who deal with peak usage pricing. Arista Power also sells a Mobile Renewable Power Station (MRPS) that utilizes energy generated from wind, solar PV, generators, fuel cells and other energy-generating devices that is stored in an integrated onboard storage device for military and other applications, and a stationary, scalable Renewable Power Station (RPS) that can be drop-shipped to off-grid locations to be used as a micro-grid. Arista Power's diffuser-augmented WindTamer wind turbine utilizes a patented technology for the production of electrical power.
