Argus expands conference portfolio to fuel oil, acquires the Energy Conference from Frank Swierz
HOUSTON, Oct. 28, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Global energy and commodity price reporting agency Argus has acquired the Energy Conference from Frank Swierz & Associates. The Miami event, held annually in October, is a key forum for buyers and sellers of fuel oil, power producers and logistics companies in the Americas.
Argus currently produces more than 50 conferences worldwide on energy, fertilizers and metals. The Energy Conference is an important addition to that portfolio, providing coverage of heavy oil products.
Argus Media chairman and chief executive Adrian Binks said: "The Energy Conference is a go-to conference for the fuel oil markets in the Americas and will complement other Argus events covering markets such as asphalt, petroleum coke and base oils."
Former organizer Frank Swierz, who will continue his association with the conference in an advisory capacity, said: "I am delighted to be transitioning this event to Argus, which has a proven track record of conducting energy conferences worldwide. I am confident the Energy Conference will go from strength to strength under their leadership."
Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
