Are America's High Schools Preparing Students for College?
New College Board Student Survey Addresses Key Questions on College Readiness
NEW YORK, Aug. 29, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On Tuesday, August 30th at 10 a.m. (EDT), the College Board will share results from a comprehensive survey of the class of 2010 on college readiness and affordability. One Year Out – the College Board's inaugural survey of recent high school graduates - explores how young Americans assess their high school experience and its role in preparing them for life after graduation.
With a year of formative new experiences behind them, this survey captures the class of 2010's perspectives on the value of higher education, the obstacles that keep some students from attending and even applying to college, and how well prepared they were for the challenges of their first post-high school college and career year, among other highlights.
Key findings from the class of 2010 will be discussed in a press briefing and webinar by College Board Senior Vice President Trevor Packer and Geoffrey Garin, President of Hart Research Associates.
