WASHINGTON, Aug. 29, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Deloitte announced today that Chris Knox, managing director, Deloitte Transactions & Business Analytics LLP, and a leader in Deloitte Advisory's government discovery practice, was recently appointed by the Archivist of the United States to serve on the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Advisory Committee. The committee advises on improvements to the administration of FOIA and is organized by the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA).
"Throughout his career, Chris has led very complex discovery projects for government and commercial clients and is an innovator in his field," said Matt Widmer, principal, Deloitte Financial Advisory Services LLP and leader of its federal advisory practice. "Chris will be a tremendous asset to the FOIA Advisory Committee and can help the federal government modernize its approach to the FOIA process."
Knox has more than two decades of experience delivering crisis information management services to federal government and commercial clients. He advises clients on the use of machine learning and analytics to respond to crisis-driven data productions related to FOIA, congressional inquiry and litigation. As a former CIO, he oversaw the innovation of process engineering, technology and quality management standards for litigation support projects.
The advisory committee serves as a deliberative body to advise on improvements to FOIA administration. The committee studies the current FOIA landscape across the executive branch and may recommend legislative action, policy changes or executive action, among other matters. Twenty voting members serve on the committee and were selected for their "considerable FOIA expertise."
