Architectural Record to Host "Design & Innovation in Multi-Unit Housing" Symposium, October 15 in Boston
NEW YORK, Oct. 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Multi-unit housing is one of the nation's fastest-growing building types -- projected to rise 11% from 2013 to over $53 billion in 2014. To explore this expanding market, McGraw Hill Construction's Architectural Record will present a special evening symposium, "Design and Innovation in Multi-Unit Housing," from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 15 at the W Boston Hotel in Boston, MA.
This program, tailored to the conditions and architectural community of Boston, will identify the most relevant issues to architects in this region who are currently -- or would like to be -- engaged in multi-family housing. The event features a panel of architects and housing experts, including representatives from ADD Inc., Hacin + Associates, and Utile Inc. Architecture + Planning, moderated by Cathleen McGuigan, Editor-in-Chief, Architectural Record. Topics discussed will include new design and construction methods, zoning, materials innovation, and the impact of urban design on multi-family buildings.
The panel will be preceded by two CEU sessions: "HEW 502 Air, Water and Moisture Management in Light Commercial Building Envelopes," presented by Key Corporate Sponsor ZIP System Sheathing; and "Mid-Rise and Beyond: The Growing Landscape for Mid-Rise and Taller Wood Buildings," presented by Product Display Sponsor Woodworks.
