OAKLAND, Calif., Jan. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Arcadian Health Plans and Arcadian Management Services, also known as "Arcadian Health," announced today that it has made a contribution to the Haiti relief efforts through the organization Project Medishare. The money will go toward health care needs for Haitians whose lives were directly impacted by the massive earthquake that struck the island on Tuesday, January 12.
"I believe in our company's mission to improve the health of individuals in underserved communities," said Robert Fahlman, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Arcadian Health. "Given the magnitude of the devastation and the hundreds of thousands of people affected, I strongly believe that as a successful health care company, we should participate in this humanitarian effort with a contribution directed specifically at providing health care for Haitians."
Project Medishare is a Florida-based non-profit organization that has been providing technical resources for community development and health care support in Haiti since 1995. The organization had the first medical trauma team on the ground in Haiti on the day after the earthquake. Arcadian Health chose to make their contribution through Project Medishare based on their shared commitment to providing quality health care to underserved populations.
