Arcadia University Announces Interim President, Dr. James P. Gallagher
GLENSIDE, Pa., Feb. 17, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Arcadia University Board of Trustees today announced the appointment of Dr. James P. Gallagher as Interim President.
President Jerry Greiner had announced that he intended to retire this spring. "The University thanks Dr. Greiner for his many accomplishments and wishes him the best with his future endeavors," said Margaret Wright Steele, Chair of the Arcadia University Board of Trustees.
The Board has appointed Dr. Gallagher as Interim President to guide the community through the period of transition to a new president. Dr. Gallagher served as President of Philadelphia University for 23 years, retiring in 2007. He also has served as the Pennsylvania Commissioner of Higher Education, chaired the Pennsylvania State Board of Education and was a member of the Philadelphia School Reform Commission.
