ARC Fertility Expands Board of Directors
ARC Fertility appoints Lissa Goldenstein, a leader in Women's Health and Fertility innovation
SARATOGA, Calif., May 5, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- ARC Fertility (www.arcfertility.com), the largest network of fertility specialists in the United States, today announced that Lissa Goldenstein has joined its board of directors and will be serving as a senior strategic advisor to the company. Goldenstein brings more than 30 years of experience in the life sciences field focusing on disruptive technologies to improve healthcare treatment, particularly for women.
"Lissa is a valuable addition to our board of directors with her extensive experience in the field of reproductive medicine and strong track record as a business leader," said Dr. David Adamson, Founder and CEO of ARC Fertility. "She shares our passion for the field of in-vitro-fertilization (IVF) and we look forward to her working with ARC to further enhance the quality of care and services available to individuals who face struggles with infertility. I believe that she will be instrumental in taking ARC Fertility to the next level."
"ARC Fertility has worked closely with Lissa, as well as with RESOLVE: the National Infertility Association (www.resolve.org), to support research and discussion regarding elective Single Embryo Transfer (eSET), which is a critical topic in reproductive medicine," continues Dr. Adamson. Data from a recent RESOLVE survey was presented at the annual Pacific Coast Reproductive Society 2015 meeting by Dr. Adamson and Barbara Collura from RESOLVE that showed that women undergoing IVF have to balance the emotional and financial stress around IVF with the risk of multiples. "I am pleased to see the collaboration between ARC Fertility and Lissa Goldenstein," says Collura. "It is important for the infertility community to help better educate patients, improve access to fertility treatments, and help reduce the emotional toll of an infertility diagnosis."
For the last five years, Goldenstein served as President and CEO of Auxogyn Inc., a leader in reproductive health that developed and brought to market non-invasive technologies to assess embryos that possess the greatest developmental potential for patients undergoing IVF. Before taking the helm at Auxogyn, she served as President and CEO of Artemis Health Inc. (now Verinata, a division of Illumina), where she led the company in developing a new technology platform that would be the basis for the first non-invasive prenatal test. Goldenstein was recently nominated and selected as winner for Most Influential Women in Business by the San Francisco Business Times.
