ARLINGTON, Va., Feb. 12, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- ARC announced today that Exelis, Inc. is the first organization to purchase FareSight™, ARC's Web-based tool for corporate air travel optimization. Exelis based its purchase on its successful beta testing experience last year.

FareSight accesses current and historic ARC data directly related to a travel manager's particular organization, and provides an analysis of their company's air travel patterns and spending. The tool also compares the company's average ticket price for any origin and destination with the overall market.
"As a FareSight beta user, we saw the ease with which the tool allowed us to get a holistic view of our company's air travel trends and preferences," said Rene Colyer, corporate travel department manager at Exelis, Inc. and board of directors member of the Corporate Travel Department Association (CTDA). "When FareSight transitioned to general availability, we purchased the product knowing the value was in understanding how our air travel rates stack against other companies traveling in the same domestic and global markets Exelis travels."
Corporate travel consultants and finance managers can harness FareSight's power to monitor and adjust corporate air travel policies, audit and negotiate airline ticket rates, and identify potential cost savings. FareSight can also help corporate travel managers profile travellers' preferences based on actual travel – not just preference surveys or policy compliance.
"We are excited to announce Exelis as the first FareSight customer," said Doug Mangold, ARC's managing director of product management. "As an integral provider of user feedback, it is fitting that Exelis marks the first of several FareSight sales ARC is anticipating in the next few weeks."
